If you love my blog (or any other site) you can add a menu like this:
This is the result of what is called an RSS feed. You should be browsing with Firefox because it’s safer, faster, and stronger than Internet Explorer. Once you’re using that, you simply visit my blog once (many other pages do this as well) and an orange icon will appear in the far right of the address bar. Click it and the menu will be added to your “bookmarks toolbar”. Now you don’t have to visit my site, you can just check the toolbar once in a while to see if anything new has been posted (it automatically updates).
The Google Personalized Page
This is awesome as your browser’s home page. It’s extremely easy to use and has a lot of functionality. It especially works well with gmail because you are automatically logged onto both when you log onto one. You can add just about any widget you like.
Digg.com
I use this as my main news reader. At the moment much of the content is for techies even though they have expanded into most categories of news. However, a lot of funny stuff and world news make it to the front. How it works is that the top stories on the internet that are actually popular make it to the front pages, as opposed to being dictated to by some corporation, who then gets all corporationy, and… Well anyways you can add your friends and the stuff that they “Digg” also makes it to your front page. Also, you can easily customize a filter that gets rid of news topics that don’t interest you.
